Introduction

CAD/CAM is one of the fastest growing sectors within the dental profession. Clinicians with ‘in office’ CAD/CAM systems are offering chairside all-ceramics to the patient within one appointment.

This course aims to provide the participants with a systematic and coordinated approach to successfully providing high aesthetic solutions chairside.

Overview

Delivering an overview of the IPS Empress CAD system, this course will explore the features and benefits available from the different block types available throughout the IPS Empress CAD range. Focused around theoretical discussion and demonstration of staining & glazing techniques it will look to explore more advanced cutback and layering techniques possible with the IPS Empress aesthetic layering ceramics.

Intra oral situations are replicated with the IPS Natural Die material and are shown to demonstrate the communication required for successful all-ceramics where the underlying situation is not ideal.

Provided with the IPS e.max CAD overview, participants will be guided through and characterize their own anterior/posterior IPS e.max CAD restorations using a formula which can be adapted to suit the aesthetics required for each case. This advanced material delivers higher strength and highly aesthetic results easily.

Cementation with aesthetic adhesive systems, adhesive systems and self adhesive/conventional cementation is explored given the clinicians’ choice based on having to cement high/low strength all-ceramic.
